Female Athlete News is extending the deadline to confirm participation in the 2024 PA Field Hockey Senior Cup.
The initial deadline to RSVP was January 31. The new deadline is February 5, which changes the original timeline.
Athletes will find out their team roster and coach as early as February 5 and no later than February 12. In our first year, FAN has invited over 200 field hockey high school seniors to participate in an East vs West tournament.
The tournament is taking place March 23 and 24 at Lower Dauphin Middle School. Games will be played either rain or shine.
Due to our timeline change, FAN will also start to announce event sponsors in early February.
“We continue to receive emails from athletes who want to play,” FAN President Jana Benscoter said. “We’re going to accept as many seniors as possible, so they can take part in the inaugural event. Due to the high interest, we’re extending the deadline. We understand that student-athletes are juggling many opportunities and responsibilities. We’re excited to host the athletes who are able to join us.”
As of January 31, FAN has received confirmation from 124 athletes from 62 high schools. Of those 124 athletes, 97 percent of them are playing field hockey, or another sport, in 56 NCAA Division I, II, or III colleges and universities.
