Mansfield wins 2-0 against Shippensburg, moves up in week two of Division II coaches’ poll: Penn Monto/NFHCA

Mansfield field hockey had the greatest bump in the second week of the Penn Monto/NFHCA poll.

 

The Mountaineers are 4-1 and only succumbed to its first loss Saturday versus West Chester. After triumphing 2-0 against Shippensburg, the team jumped up five spots in the poll.

 

“The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll is a composite ranking of the top-25 teams with a .500 or better record in the nation each week. Each Division III team with an NFHCA member coach is permitted one vote for the ranking each week,” according to the association.

 

Additionally, the poll has no bearing on selection to the 2023 NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.

 

Here are the top 10 ranked college field hockey teams picked by coaches in Division II:

9. Newberry College, previously 10

8. Bloomsburg, no change

7. Millersville, previously 6

6. Mansfield, previously 11

5. Shippensburg, previously 2

4. Saint Anselm College, no change

3. West Chester, previously 5

2. Kutztown, previously 3

1. East Stroudsburg, no change
