Class 3A

No. 4 Penn Manor [14-4-1] at No. 1 Manheim Township [17-1-1], 5 p.m.

Both teams were selected by FAN in our early pre-season picks to be contenders in the postseason playoffs. The two have rosters filled with highly skilled athletes, which are well coached. The squads have squared off twice this season splitting the games with each taking one win and one loss. Penn Manor has been to the championship game 11 times, while Manheim Township’s one and only appearance was in 1972. Penn Manor has won the District championship four times. This game will go down to the wire, as both teams are adversaries in the Lancaster-Lebanon League, as well as in District 3 Class 3A, and they’ll both want the win.

No. 3 Warwick [15-3-1] at No. 2 Lower Dauphin [17-2], 7 p.m.

FAN also selected, in July, Warwick and Lower Dauphin as teams that would go deep into the postseason. When Warwick decides its going to play, the Warriors head coach will do anything he can to inspire them to fight. Lower Dauphin, which has a slate of uncompromising athletes on the field and prepared ones ready to be called upon on the sidelines, will have to try to take an early lead to stave off an upset. The Falcons have been to the big stage 26 times, of which, they’ve claimed gold 16 times. Warwick’s program is working on bringing back its solid game from the 90s and the past decade, when they were never a team to overlook. The Warriors have been to the finale 11 times, winning six.
