No. 5 Manheim Central [14-4-2] at No. 1 Palmyra [16-1-1], 6:30 p.m.

We see you Barons. FAN picked both teams to go far in the postseason and we’re thrilled to see this matchup. Manheim Central had to unseat Elizabethtown in the quarterfinals to be paired with Palmyra. Winning in overtime, the Barons have had their stamina tested, which could help them in tonight’s contest. The reason Palmyra is often at the top of the leaderboard is that they work like champions. And, they have a coaching staff that pours all of its life lessons, strategies, and patience into willing learners. This game will come down to who executes better on offensive corners and who defends stronger on defensive corners. It would be Manheim Central’s third District 3 Class 2A championship game if they win. Palmyra has had 16 championship appearances. The Cougars are the reigning champs.

No. 7 Ephrata [14-6] at No. 3 Northern York [18-2], 6 p.m.

FAN was so close to picking Ephrata as a team to watch in 2023. We only got one out of the two as predicted to make it deep into the postseason. The Mountaineers arrived in the semis after defeating New Oxford and Red Land. Northern York beat Cocalico and York Suburban. Northern has power on its team once the Polar Bears are warmed up. If Northern scores first, it’s more than likely going to be a win for them, which stands to be the team’s first-ever District 3 Class 2A championship appearance. Ephrata would have to mess up Northern’s mental game to take the win and reach the championship stage for its sixth District 3 Class 2A contest.
