Penn State Harrisburg hires experienced DI coach to lead its new field hockey program

Coach AJ has established relationships in central Pennsylvania.

Penn State Harrisburg announced Wednesday it hired Amanda Janney Misselhorn to start up the school’s first Division III field hockey program.

Misselhorn has a wealth of experience that spans coaching youth, as well as Division I field hockey at both Temple and Indiana universities.

The Division III program is in its infancy. It will start off playing club and then enter the 2024 season as an official NCAA-sanctioned team.

A national search was conducted to find the right fit. Misselhorn will now begin to recruit the first class of field hockey student-athletes. The team will field a roster of 25 to 30 players.
