OSS Health Female Athlete Clinic aims to ‘optimize performance through prevention and management,’ OSS Health partners with FAN

Female Athlete News is happy to announce its partnership with OSS Health.

OSS Health is a physician owned and operated orthopaedic hospital system that includes clinics, pain centers, urgent cares, surgery center and an orthopaedic hospital. The group services South Central Pennsylvania with various locations in York, Mechanicsburg, Hanover and Gettysburg.

Dr. Abbie Kelley, DO, launched the Female Athlete Clinic in 2020, which is solely catered to helping female athletes achieve solutions to their medical needs.

“With the continued rise in the number of female athletes competing at all levels of play, OSS Health has worked to build a team of providers who have special interest and training in working with and treating the female athlete,” Dr. Kelley said. “Staying active is so important at any age, and there are different needs for athletes competing at different levels.”

The missions of FAN and the Female Athlete Clinic align.

“Female athletes require special attention, as they are more susceptible to certain injuries and conditions,” Dr. Kelley said. “In the Female Athlete Clinic, our goal is to optimize performance through prevention and management of these conditions specific to female athletes. As a former college athlete myself, I believe in the power of sport. As such, I ensure a comprehensive team approach to address medical, orthopaedic, psychological and nutritional needs of the female athlete. Through the clinic, we strive to minimize injury, maximize potential and continue to empower women in sport.”

FAN is looking forward to working with OSS Health, FAN President Jana Benscoter said.

“My personal interactions with OSS Health staff have always been professional, uplifting, and fun,” Benscoter said. “Upon learning about its efforts to expand recognition of the Female Athlete Clinic, we felt that our partnership is a solid match. We are educating our readership on opportunities to promote positive health solutions for female athletes of all ages.”
