As with any season-to-season rites of passage, namely graduation and developing new starting lineups, here are five up-and-coming teams picked by FAN that we believe could unseat and unsettle top teams during the 2023 Pennsylvania high school field hockey season. The following programs aren’t historically known to capture titles or medals every year. Our list names our first five out of 10 teams statewide we expect to cause competitive friction this fall. Part 2 will publish next Wednesday. Within recent years, these high school teams began to rewrite their playbooks and have started to come up with wins. The teams are listed in alphabetical order.
