FAN kicks off start of second annual ‘Linda Kreiser Female Athlete Scholarship’ competition: Class of 2024 edition

Calling all Pennsylvania high school field hockey Class of 2024 seniors and college field hockey freshmen!

We’re starting to take information for our annual $5,000 ‘Linda Kreiser Female Athlete Scholarship.’ The scholarship goes to a senior who earns the most votes in our scholarship competition.

This year’s contest will include high school field hockey seniors who have committed to their college pick by the end of October. We understand that not every senior makes her pick during her first semester of her senior year of high school, so we have expanded this year’s competition to include freshmen in college, who made her college pick during her second semester in the 2022-23 school year.

Details:

Who: Class of 2024, and first semester college freshmen who made their college pick in the second semester of her senior year

What: $5,000 scholarship competition

When: Voting will take place over one week in late November

Where: Online voting (subscribers who have either a $10 or $100 subscription in the month of November will be sent a ballot to cast your vote; votes are private and who you voted for is not shared; subscriptions can be purchased on female-athlete-news.com by clicking FAN Store; $10 is cancel anytime, $100 is for one year)

Why: FAN kicked off its scholarship in 2022. The winner receives $2,500 before she leaves for college. The second $2,500 is provided to the female athlete after one semester in college and proof of a 3.0 GPA. We do not track how the money is spent. It is for adjustments to college life and can be spent on anything from travel expenses to books to room and board, or pizza.

Please fill out this form and we’ll be in touch. Athletes will have a short profile written about them featured on our ‘Athletes’ page on female-athlete-news.com. Submissions will close on October 31. We will provide additional information as we get closer to the competition.
