These players shot, pushed, and dodged last season to become the top goal scorers across the country.

North Carolina’s Erin Matson ended her field hockey career at the top.

She helped the Tar Heels win the 2022 NCAA Division I title, landed a two-way tie for first for scoring the most goals, broke a few more records, and then months later, was hired as Carolina’s next head coach.

Not every athlete has a storyline like hers, but many more are just as fierce on the field.
