Twenty-three Pennsylvania high school field hockey athletes were selected to the 134 members of the National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School Impact Senior Team.
The list was published in late February.
“Student-athletes had to meet three of five-character criteria – covering items like community service and leadership roles – and five of 10 athletic criteria to be eligible for recognition,” according to the NFHCA. “The impact that the graduating class of 2023 has had on their communities is prolific and diverse, from serving in leadership positions at their high schools to volunteering their time with a myriad of charitable organizations, ranging from youth field hockey programs to food pantries. On the pitch these seniors have no only broken records and received many athletic accolades, they have also served as team captains, been models of sporting behavior, and helped lead their teams to postseason runs.”
