The first of four postseason high school field hockey awards recognizing athletes in 10 separate regions across the United States was released last week by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
The 2023 NFHCA High School All-Region teams is sponsored by The LineUp. There are 171 athletes listed, who are from Massachusetts, the Mid-Atlantic, New Jersey, New York, Northern New England, Pennsylvania, the South, Southern New England, and the West.
“Each NFHCA region receives up to 16 First Team selections and Second Team selections are reflective of the active number of NFHCA scholastic and club head coach members registered in that specific region,” according to the NFHCA. “NFHCA committees, composed of regional coach members, make selections following the review and evaluation of nominations submitted by member coaches. Over 500 All-Region High School nominations spanning 20 states were received this season.”
