Shippensburg remains No. 1 in Division II NFHCA poll after falling to East Stroudsburg 5-1

Undeterred by Shippensburg’s recent 5-1 loss to East Stroudsburg, the Division II college field hockey teams remains No. 1 for a second week in a row by the narrowest of margins in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association poll.

Assumption College, which was previously unranked, made its way onto the list in week seven. And, a majority of the colleges on the list only moved by a spot up or down this week.

“The NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2023 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship,” according to the association. “After two weeks of regular season competition, eligible teams must maintain a record of .500 or above to be eligible for ranking each week.”
