Elite female athletes selected to USA Field Hockey’s 2023 Junior Nexus Championship were announced late Wednesday evening.
The national event, sponsored by Osaka Hockey, will be held at Virginia Beach, Virginia in July. Selected athletes completed their requirements at regional Selection Camp sessions and are now in the Olympic Development Pathway, as well as tryout process for the Junior U.S. National Teams.
“USA Field Hockey would like to thank and congratulate the thousands of athletes and coaches from across the country who worked, trained and competed in the 2023 Nexus program,” according to the organization’s statement. “In the event that an invited player is unable to attend, alternates are listed below and will be notified if a roster position opens up in their age group.”
The Junior Nexus Championship will take place July 6 through July 16 at the Virginia Beach Regional Training Center in Virginia Beach, Va. At the conclusion of the Junior Nexus Championship, top performing athletes in qualifying age groups will be invited to participate in the 2023 AAU Junior Olympic Games and additional Junior National Team selection opportunities.
