FAN to Host New Event, First-Ever National Hockey5s Chocolate Cup in July 2025
Female Athlete News, LCC (FAN) is excited to announce a one-of-a-kind event featuring the new format of the game. FAN will host the first National Hockey5s Chocolate Cup, a USA Field Hockey Sanctioned Event, on July 22 to 24 in Palmyra, Pa.
“We understand that Hockey5s is new in the United States,” said Jana Benscoter, FAN Owner and event organizer. “We wanted to create an opportunity for everyone – athletes, coaches, and umpires – to learn the ins and outs. We are thrilled to be sanctioned by USA Field Hockey and to give those wanting to know more about Hockey5s an opportunity to play it for themselves at the Hockey5s Chocolate Cup.”
The 2025 National Hockey5s Chocolate Cup will be played at the In The Net Sports Complex in Palmyra, Pa. and offers playing opportunities for girls, men and women. The event will feature three divisions in each of the U-14, U-16 and U-19 Girls age groups: Beginners, Developing and Elite. There will be two divisions for the adult group in each gender: Social and Competitive.
The winning teams of the Men’s and Women’s Competitive Divisions will each win $2,000.
Youth clubs may enter a team in every division for a total of nine teams. Rosters are capped at 10 players, with the playing field having four field players and one goalkeeper. Games will follow the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Hockey5s rules with two, 15-minute halves and a 2-minute halftime.
There is a four-game guarantee.
The cost is $1,275 per youth team and $1,400 per adult team.
FAN has secured YOLO Sportswear as the tournament apparel sponsor. Harrisburg/
“We hope the athletes and their families are able to enjoy a mini-vacation, where they can go to Hersheypark, ZooAmerica, Chocolate World, and the water park,” added Benscoter. “The schedule has been built to provide flexibility if there is severe weather. We are playing at In The Net, in Palmyra, which has a dome that will keep games moving. And, we have flexibility in the schedule to ensure every team plays all four games. We have built the schedule to allow for everyone to go to Hershey for some fun.”
