‘Game Speed,’ with special guests FAN contributor Jill Gattens and Lower Dauphin field hockey’s Avery Pollock

In our fifth episode of ‘Game Speed,’ a digital conversation with special guests who talk about sports, rules, psychology, and more, Female Athlete News contributor Jill Gattens empties her college field hockey notebook, sharing her insights and predictions. She shares her thoughts about NCAA Division I, II, and III field hockey programs and players.

Gattens points out that Northwestern University’s Maddie Zimmer and Michigan’s Abbey Tamer are taking red shirts this season to train with the US Women’s National Field Hockey team. The US team is competing in the 2023 Pan American Games, which is where they could win a berth to the summer 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Lower Dauphin field hockey’s Avery Pollock also talks about her recovery from an ACL and meniscus tear. Pollock, a senior, explains her next steps forward and that she still hopes to be back by the 2023 PIAA postseason.
