East Stroudsburg, Shippensburg polled at No. 1 and 2 as PSAC Conference play begins: NFHCA

College field hockey tournament are set to get underway.

One of the most competitive Division II conferences is the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference). That conference action begins today.

Among the top 10 teams ranked in week eight are six PSAC teams. East Stroudsburg and Shippensburg have received the endorsement of Division II coaches all season in the NFHCA poll sponsored by Penn Monto.

There were few changes made to the poll with Mansfield seeing the biggest climb and Newberry College capping the top 10.

In the PSAC conference, both East Stroudsburg and Shippensburg have a bye week. Mansfield hosts Bloomsburg at 4 p.m. and Kutztown hosts Indiana University of Pennsylvania, which starts at 3:30 p.m. The first round are scheduled for today.

“The NFHCA Division II National Coaches Poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the 2023 NCAA Division II Field Hockey Championship,” according to the association. “After two weeks of regular season competition, eligible teams must maintain a record of .500 or above to be eligible for ranking each week.”
