USA Field Hockey announces athletes invited to tryout for the Four Nations Tour, including U-16, U-18, and U-21 junior squads

USA Field Hockey is going back to Europe this Spring to compete in the Four Nations Tour and, on Wednesday, the athletes vying for spots on the U-16, U-18, and U-21 junior women’s squads were announced.

Athletes who accept the invite will attend the 2025 Junior National Camp taking place January 10-12 on the University of North Carolina at Charlotte campus. Training will continue in February and then the final travel rosters will be decided.

“This first stage in the National Team selection process was highly competitive, and the decisions were not easy,” U-16 USWNT head coach Tamara Durante said in a press release. “The group selected reflects not just skill, but the passion, teamwork, and drive we witnessed in play and understanding the game. For those moving forward, this is just the beginning of an exciting journey. For those not selected this time, remember: today’s challenges are tomorrow’s motivation. Keep pushing, both mentally and physically, because potential has no limits.”

Teams from Belgium, France, Germany, and Holland have participated in the past two years. The teams participating this year haven’t been announced yet, according to USA Field Hockey.

“Our first camp was a big success,” U-18 USWNT head coach Mark Egner said in a press release. “The coaches and players did a fantastic job of starting this journey, playing at a high tempo and laying a strong foundation for this year’s team. I’m excited to work with this U-18 group and impressed with the level on show so far.”

USA is sending a third team in a different division of the Four Nations Tour, which will take place in Valencia, Spain. All three squads will compete in mid-April.
