High school field hockey rivalries, old and new, are firing up across Pennsylvania.
There are eight weeks remaining until the state championships at Cumberland Valley High School. And, plenty of amazing hockey left to watch.
Before they even get there, teams are playing for divisional bragging rights and seeking to be crowned their conference best. Across the state, there are a number of unbeaten teams that haven’t dropped one contest yet.
Warwick is 9-0 and is sitting atop the District 3 Class 1A list. Last year, head coach Ron Stief told FAN during the 2023 season that he was working on building the girls’ confidence and bringing back the style of Warwick field hockey from the 1990s.
Cumberland Valley and Mechanicsburg renewed a 30-year-old rivalry that rocked Soldiers and Sailors Stadium. Mechanicsburg took the win and jumped up in the rankings.
