Texas drops second match of the season to Minnesota after latest American Volleyball Coaches Association poll kept the Longhorns at No. 1

Texas, ranked at the top of the second American Volleyball Coaches Association poll of the 2024 season, dropped its second match yesterday.

Minnesota, which ranked No. 18, bested the Longhorns in five sets. The reigning national champion is placing their attention on the next match against Indiana.

During that contest, the team is not only looking to use the home opener as a way to make corrections, but they will also be inspired by celebrating 2023 with a pregame that includes unveiling the National Championship banner.

The latest AVCA poll was published September 2. Teams are listed with current ranking, previous ranking, and overall record as of Monday.
