The highly anticipated annual college field hockey coaches polls are here starting with the preseason predictions presented by Penn Monto and the National Field Hockey Coaches Association.
Middlebury College, which for six years straight has been crowned New England Small College Athletic Conference League and NCAA Division III champions, were again selected as the team to beat in 2024, according to the NFHCA poll published Tuesday.
Johns Hopkins was ranked No. 2. For the past three seasons, Middlebury and Johns Hopkins have met in the championship game, but Hopkins has yet to take home the title.
According to the NFHCA, “The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll is a composite ranking of the top-25 teams with a .500 or better record in the nation each week. Each Division III team with an NFHCA member coach is permitted one vote for the ranking each week.
Polls are announced every Tuesday during the field hockey playing season.
The Penn Monto/NFHCA Division III National Coaches Poll is voted on by NFHCA member coaches and has no bearing on selection to the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championship.”
